Questions We Hear Most Often

If you’re new to technical cleanliness analysis — or just want to understand how our process works — these are the answers to the questions our clients ask most frequently.

1. How can I send my parts for cleanliness analysis?

Simply contact us and we will guide you through the entire process, including sample preparation, packaging, and shipping to ensure reliable results.

2. How much does a technical cleanliness analysis cost?

The cost depends on the component, required methods, and test complexity. Contact us to receive a customized quotation based on your specific needs

3. What information is required to get a quotation?

To prepare an accurate quotation, we typically require:

  • Drawing or photos of the component (to understand geometry and size)
  • Applicable cleanliness standard (VDA 19.1, ISO 16232, and customer-specific)
  • Particle size limits
  • Any special requirements
4. How do I know if my component meets cleanliness requirements?

We evaluate your component according to the applicable standard and provide a clear compliance result, along with detailed particle analysis.

5. What happens if my parts fail the cleanliness test?

We help you identify contamination sources and define corrective actions to improve your process and meet requirements.

6. Can you help interpret the test results?

Yes. We do not only deliver data — we support you in understanding the results and how they relate to your cleanliness requirements.

7. Do you offer expedited testing services?

Yes. We offer expedited analysis services to support urgent production releases or validation timelines.

8. What is the typical turnaround time for analysis?

Our standard turnaround time is approximately 15 days after receiving samples and confirming requirements.

9. Which standards do you follow for technical cleanliness analysis?

We perform analysis according to VDA 19.1, ISO 16232, and customer-specific requirements (OEMs and Tier 1).

10. What extraction methods do you use?

We apply all relevant methods defined in the standards, including:

  • Pressure rinsing
  • Ultrasonic extraction
  • Internal rinsing (internal flow)
  • Agitation
  • Air Jet
11. What is the minimum particle size you can detect?

Our Filtrex optical microscopy system allows detection of particles down to 5 microns

12. Which solvents do you use for testing?

We typically use Haku 1021/925. If a different solvent is required, we can review its availability and suitability for the test.

13. What types of technical cleanliness services do you offer?

Our services include:

  • Component cleanliness inspection
  • Declining curve testing (decay curve development)
  • Particle counting and classification
  • Gravimetric analysis
  • Chemical composition analysis (SEM/EDS)
  • Particle trap analysis (environmental contamination)
  • Process contamination investigation
14. What types of components can be tested?

We analyze metal, plastic, elastomer, and precision components, among others, without limitation on geometry or material.

15. Do you offer environmental contamination analysis?

Yes. We perform environmental contamination analysis using particle traps, including Illig value evaluation according to VDA 19.2, as well as airborne particle counting according to ISO 14644.

16. Can you support the setup of a technical cleanliness laboratory?

Yes. We support customers with:

  • Laboratory design
  • Equipment sales
  • Supply of consumables
  • Method definition
17. Do you provide training on technical cleanliness standards?

Yes. We offer theoretical and practical training on VDA 19.1, VDA 19.2 and ISO 16232, including training for analysts and auditors.

18. Do you offer maintenance services for laboratory equipment?

Yes. We provide preventive and corrective maintenance (including PALL extraction stations).

19. Do you supply spare parts and consumables?

Yes. We offer a wide range of spare parts and consumables for technical cleanliness laboratories.

Yes. We help customers prepare for and successfully pass audits, ensuring compliance with cleanliness requirements.

21. Do you work with OEM requirements (BMW, Ford, Cummins, Mercedes Benz, Hella, ZF, Navistar, Caterpillar, etc.)?

Yes. We have experience working with OEM and Tier 1 cleanliness requirements.
